How to wire up a mini controller for backpacks and DIY systems
The Mini Flow Controller available from DA Components is compatible with most backpacks and can be used as a replacement or in your own DIY projects. I quite often get asked how to wire these up so I have written a short explanation below, or if you prefer please watch the video by clicking on the link below:-

The mini controllers are max 3.5 amp rated, the control knob acts as an on/off switch and also controls the flow of water. When you receive your mini controller all of the cables will be labelled and should be connected as follows:-
- Red cable on the controller connects to the positive side (+) of the battery along with the positive side of the water pump.
- Black cable on the controller connects to the negative side (-) of the battery.
- Green cable on the controller connects to the negative side (-) of the water pump.
One of the most common causes of controllers failing or not working is due to bad connections, I therefore recommend you ensure there is a good contact (clean and dry) with the copper wire inside the cables. There are many different types of connectors available but my personal recommendation is to use a spade or bullet connector.
Hope this helps.
